No kidding! I just sponsored a young lady at her Confirmation. The praise and worship band was in full ear-splitting force (with bongos!) The procession in was led by 6 kids carrying big clay flower pots with flames shooting out of the top. Very pagan. Other than that it wasn't too bad.
That's horrible, Pat, and really rude. Lifeteen may not be for everybody, but it helps bring A LOT of teens closer to God.
anon - why is it when someone is critical of someone else they never use their own name? Just asking...
Anon: Rudeness is not my intention. I personally know many people who like LifeTeen. I am not questioning their holiness, just their taste in music.
The Life Teen reply of: "It isn't charitable to make fun of Life Teen because it brings me/so many/tons of Kids "to God"" doesn't fly in my book.LifeTeen isn't for everyone you are correct. You are also correct that it helps some kids. But making "fun" of something also points out its weaknesses or uniqueness that can only help an organization.
For those who are unhappy about Patrick's use of music at Life Teen Masses, I will gladly suggest the names of several parishes in DBQ that have horrible music. (& for many of them that is the least of their wrongs.) Personally, I thought it was funny, not rude. Maybe it is because the humor I like most usually has a basis in truth.
